I'm finally unpacked... well, for the most part. I'm still waiting for Coleman and Rob to move in. Of course Rob had promised some help for when I moved in on Tuesday... the latest is he won't be down until next weekend or later (shocker there?). Coleman might be here this weekend. Overall the apartment is great. It's kinda weird getting used to living right downtown in a big city. The actual apartment is quiet though, so that's nice.
I've had two days of orientation through TFA with my last day being tomorrow (yes, Saturday). There are some final sessions and preparations before we enter the classroom. I should be reporting to my school on Monday. And I did finally find out that I will be at the Rand Campus for CAPCS in Northeast DC, close to the Maryland border. The school serves K-8, and I will be teaching Middle School, which I'm really excited about since that's what I taught this summer in Philadelphia. I'm really anxious to get to my school and meet the rest of the staff and see my room. I still don't know if I will be a resource room teacher or in an inclusion setting, where I would be co-teaching with another general ed. teacher.
It's pretty lame that I'm writing this close to 9pm on a Friday night, but we have our last day of orientation tomorrow at 7:40am. Not cool. Other than that, nothin' too exciting goin' on. Looking forward to our first visitors this weekend in Cholo and Emily... I think they are gettin' in tonight but aren't staying here until tomorrow. More visitors are always welcome (warning: Watson is coming next weekend).
